Liverpool defeated Leicester City by two-goals-to-one in a Saturday Premier League fixture played inside the king Power Stadium. This was the Reds’ fourth consecutive win since the commencement of this current season, and their victory keeps them at the top of the league table .

Goal-keeper Alisson got his baptism of fire when his attempt to play to the gallery led to the opponent scoring their only goal , and the incident later put immense pressure on his team during the second half as they were forced to defend their lead when the opponent became the more offensive side.

Liverpool were the more dominant side in the opening half of the match , and they scored  two through Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Firmino raced with the ball into Leicester’s eighteen yard box only to have his final shot deflected out of danger by the out-stretched foot of Peter Schmeicle , and Salah shot the rebound a few inches off the goalpost.

Liverpool scored in the tenth minute of the game through Sadio Mane. Andrew Robertson , who initiated the move that led to the goal from the left flank , was a able to feed a pass to the Senegalese inside the Foxes eighteen yard box and Mane toed the ball into the far corner of the net to put his side in the lead .

The Red continued to dominate possession as the pressed to double their lead.

Gradually the home team settled into the match , and it took the good goalkeeping of Alisson Becker to deflect out of danger Demarai Gray’s goal-bound shot.

The Foxes came into the game very strong and more purposeful around the half hour mark , but Liverpool’s good defensive organization prevented their opponent from making inroads into their final third.

Leicester City were the more dominant side in the second half , in which they scored a goal through Rachid Ghezzal.

Liverpool became sloppy in their passes during the second stanza of the match , but they still defended as a strong unit as the home team launched a sustained attacking play against them.

It took the sliding tackle of Joe Gomez to prevent James Maddison from shooting at Liverpool’s goalpost from the six yard box , and with only goalkeeper Alisson at his mercy.

Leicester halved their goal deficit in the sixty second minute of the match through Ghezzal . Liverpool conceded this goal due to Alisson’s attempt at showboating . The Brazilian goalkeeper tried to dribble Kelechi Iheanacho inside his penalty box , but the Nigerian striker dispossessed him and fed a low pass to Ghezzal inside the eighteen yard box and the Algerian winger fired the ball into the empty net

Sadio Mane wasted and opportunity to score when he headed the free-kick from James Milner far from the goalpost.

Liverpool were able to maintain their one-goal lead till the end of the match , containing a resurgent Leicester side in the final quarter of an hour in the match.
